Pleora Technologies, the world's leading provider of high-performance video interface products, today announced the launch of an innovative external frame grabber , the first to implement a Camera LinkTM full-frame camera for network vision systems. Pleora Technologies' iPORT CL-Ten external full frame grabber transforms the Camera LinkTM full-frame camera into a GigE Vision-compatible camera that integrates it into a multi-point real-time via a less expensive remote Ethernet cable Video network.
Pleora's tens of thousands of unique mission-critical systems have been configured with external frame grabbers . With the release of the iPORT CL-Ten external full frame grabber, the CL-Ten product line now supports video transmission of Camera Link full, medium and basic cameras via a 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) connection. Visual system designers have now deployed the new iPORT CL-Ten external full frame grabber for a range of high-bandwidth vision applications, including automated inspection systems for transportation and production.
Pleora of iPORT CL-Ten full frame Camera Link frame grabber that the full-frame camera can be flexibly applied to various network configurations GigE Vision, until the connection with a plurality of cameras, image processing workstations and distributed more traditional umbilical Point-to-multipoint switched video network. In contrast, Camera Link's full interface requires a lot of bulky and expensive professional cables. This high-cost professional cable only supports umbilical cable connections and requires a costly extender kit for remote connections.
The iPORT CL-Ten full frame grabber transmits uncompressed video at a maximum Camera Link full frame rate of 6.12 Gb/s. The video is directly transmitted to the computer port with a low and consistent end-to-end delay via an industry standard 10 GigE cable. Compared to Camera Link's distance of only 10 meters, 10GiE long distance transmission of up to 1000 meters can make the processing and image analysis equipment installation location away from harsh environments, and can be easily maintained and repaired or installed in a centralized operation center. The iPORT CL-Ten full frame grabber features an advanced programmable logic controller (PLC) that allows the user to accurately measure, synchronize, trigger and control Camera Link full frame cameras and images in a network environment with programmable logic controllers. equipment.
John Philips, senior product manager at Pleora Technologies, said: "The iPORT CL-Ten full frame grabber maximizes the performance of Camera Link full-frame cameras by providing vision system manufacturers with GigE networking, cabling and cost advantages. The frame grabber extends Pleora Technologies' Camera Link camera portfolio to help designers incorporate any Camera Link basic, medium or full frame camera into their network environment."
Wiring and network advantages
System designers are currently configuring iPORT CL-Ten full frame grabbers for applications such as remote range and multicast with performance, cost and reliability advantages. For example, CL-Ten is being incorporated into roadside and mobile rail monitoring system designs to automatically monitor the integrity of railcar structural components, safety features and rails.
In the roadside automatic monitoring system, a series of Camera Link full-frame cameras along the track and high-architectural platform capture images of the relevant main components while the train is in motion. The CL-Ten Full Frame External Framer integrates a programmable logic controller that works in sync with multiple position sensors, cameras and light sources and triggers an image acquisition program.
The images captured by the Camera Link full frame camera will be converted locally to a GigE Vision compatible video stream via the iPORT CL-Ten full frame grabber and then transmitted to a server in the trackside facility for analysis. With the expansion of the Ethernet range, the data analysis equipment can be installed away from the harsh environment next to the track and installed in a convenient location for maintenance and repair. If any fault is found, the system will send the information and fault details to the centralized operation center via the long-distance Ethernet cable. At the centralized operations center, the inspector will receive an alarm for any faults and can stop the train, or if the problem is not serious, the repair can be scheduled.
In the mobile railway monitoring system, the Camera Link full-frame camera is installed in a railcar or service vehicle to detect damage to the track and elevated track components. The iPORT CL-Ten Full Frame External Framer converts the images of the Camera Link full frame camera into a GigE Vision compliant video stream. The video stream will be aggregated to a single network and transmitted to the in-vehicle workstation for analysis. If a fault is found, the image data will be added to the corresponding GPS information and transmitted wirelessly to the operation center.
Product launch
The iPORT CL-Ten full frame external frame grabber is available now. The external frame grabber is fully supported by Pleora's feature-rich eBUSTM SDK application kit and drivers, allowing designers to quickly get samples and create product-level software with the same application programming interface (API) to support 10 GigE, Video transmission via GigE, USB 3.0 and wireless.
