China, May 5, 2014 – STMicroelectronics' new STM32Snippets offer highly optimized and ready-to-use register-level code segments to maximize the performance and energy efficiency of STM32 microcontroller application designs.

Register-level programming reduces memory usage, saves valuable processor clock cycles, and reduces supply current consumption, but typically requires designers to spend a lot of time researching product manuals. Streamlined and efficient programs can improve application performance and achieve power and cost targets. STM32Snippets provides a shortcut for developers to write such programs.
STM32Snippets are integrated into the recently released STM32CubeTM software tools and embedded software that simplify product initialization and code migration. With these tools and software, developers can choose between the highly portable STM32CubeTM method and the highly optimized STM32Snippets. These two softwares form a unique development ecosystem on the market, making the STM32 the preferred microcontroller for creative embedded designers.
STMicroelectronics will release the STM32Snippets code segment for all different STM32 microcontrollers, initially releasing nearly 100 code segments covering all peripherals of the STM32 F0 except the USB controller. These code snippets are available for free download at any time and work directly with the STM32F072B-DISCO Discovery Kit and the IAR EWARM or Keil MDK-ARM development environment. In addition, some code snippets will be introduced directly into the STM32 F0 reference manual, giving developers a better understanding of how the microcontroller works in the form of routines.
