Electronic ink keyboard is really cool but it doesn't work on Mac

Tencent Digital (outside the cloud) Mac is indeed old and old, almost all to be updated, no wonder some startups turn around the Mac. The market is full of rumors that startup companies are developing innovative products based on rumors.

Recently, Reddit reported that Australian startup Sonder has developed a "smart magic keyboard" that uses electronic ink technology and that each key can be freely changed. In addition, the keyboard can also adjust the layout according to different languages.

Designers claim this is a prototype keyboard for 2018 iMacs and MacBooks.

Then the Guardian reported that Apple CEO Cook and Sonder CEO Francisco Serra-Martin had met on Wednesday, and Apple may be interested in acquiring Sonder.

Not fly! Because Sonder later responded, "There are some factual mistakes in the report. We did not meet with Cook. Although we very much hope to have such an opportunity, Sonder hopes to negotiate with companies and looks forward to launching products as quickly as possible."

The electronic ink keyboard developed by Sonder looks very similar to the Apple Magic Keyboard. A careful reading of the original report of the Guardian will reveal that the new keyboard that appeared in the article was developed for the new Mac. It is somewhat different from the Sonder keyboard. The new keyboard uses backlight keys, and the keys are refreshed faster when the layout is changed.

Considering that Sonder has denied news of a meeting with Cook and Reddit has deleted the text, it seems that all the acquisitions are not true. The purpose is just to create a new keyboard for the Sonder. The keyboard is priced at $200 before the end of the year.

Apple has been buying startups for a long time, only to obtain technology, but Apple rarely publishes the news of the acquisition. Apple also does not allow startups to publicly announce acquisitions.

The new MacBook Pro may change the design, and a set of function keys now appearing on the MacBook may be replaced by OLED touch bars. OLED touch bar and can be freely configured to display icons and notifications for different apps.

Before the end of the month, Apple may release a new MacBook Pro.
