Recently, Tyco Electronics announced that it will introduce a new RoHS-compliant G13 SMT package and end caps for the solid-state lighting (SSL) industry. This product is suitable for the replacement of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and LED strip lighting modules in standard T8 and T12 fluorescent LEDs.
In order to achieve high volume production of integrated packages of fluorescent LEDs instead of lamps, the connector enables fast SMT electrical connection to the PCB and a standard pin interface for the fixed lamp holder. The product is packaged in tape and reel for easy high-speed installation, making it compatible with FR4 and aluminum-based PCBs.
The new product is designed with a surface mount track that provides additional stability when the connector is inserted or removed from the LED tube. The SMT housing material is UL 94 V-0 flame retardant grade thermoplastic for automatic reflow soldering. The connector's end cap interface and SMT connector, heat sink and tube are individually packaged for easy assembly.
Performance indicators: rated current 2A, AC and DC rated voltage 250 V, dielectric strength 1500 VAC, and the center line distance of each pin in the G13 specification is 0.5 inch. The normal operating temperature is -40 to 120 degrees Celsius. This product complies with UL 8750 and UL 1993 standards.
