"Target 6" is a high-altitude high-speed target machine designed and developed by the Beijing Aviation Academy. It was designed and developed by the Beijing Aviation Institute in 1963. It was successfully launched in 1972 and was developed throughout the development process. Nine research results were obtained. Regrettably, when the "target six" is about to achieve formal results, for various reasons, the development of the "target six" was forced to stop and eventually failed to install troops for the country. However, the design of "Target 6" is integrated into the passion and dream of Beihang people.

Difficult task
When ground-to-air missiles and ship-borne missiles are used for target strike training, the choice of target drones determines the quality of training. The use of ordinary drones as a target, in addition to the high cost, can not meet the needs of high-altitude, high-speed, can not meet the training. Therefore, the design goal of the target machine for ground-to-air missiles and ship-borne missiles is proposed.
The design of the target machine originated from the drone, but the corresponding index is much higher than that of the ordinary drone. It is actually a drone with a very high Mach number. Many parameters are different from the traditional remote control drone.
The "target six" has a flying Mach number of up to 2, and the aerodynamic layout uses a tandem double tail and a duck-like layout. The "Target 6" draws on the essence of the rocket design and is combined with a connector to form a "shedaway propulsion" propulsion structure. The "Target 6" carries a ramjet engine and further increases the flying Mach number as a target to improve the training quality. The structure and power of the "target six" is different from the traditional aircraft and the traditional meaning of the drone, and a more advanced ground control equipment is needed.
Hard test flight
After the design of the "target six" is completed, the relevant flight test is required, but it is difficult to complete the take-off of the drone from the ground under the conditions at that time. Therefore, the test flight of the target aircraft finally chose the way of airborne delivery, but this way is extremely dangerous.
At that time, there were not many large transport planes that could carry the target machine. Even the current "Hang 6" task of carrying the target machine is also dangerous. First, the position of the target machine in the mother machine is difficult to determine. Mounting one on the wing will change the center of gravity of the aircraft, while mounting two on the wing will greatly increase the take-off weight. At that time, in order to test the relevant performance parameters of the target mounted on the wing of the parent machine, some teachers and students even joined the test flight with the fearless sacrifice under the premise of not receiving the training of skydiving. Second, the delivery of the target machine There is a risk that after the parent aircraft carrying the target aircraft takes off, it is not allowed to carry the target aircraft back to the airport. This is the same as the requirement that the bomb training does not allow the missile to come back.
After Beihang people overcame a series of setbacks and difficulties, on November 12, 1972, "Target 67202" was finally launched successfully. The difficult test flight marked the staged success of the "Target 6" development work.
