On March 22, 2012, Linde Lien Hwa China, a joint venture between Linde Group and Taiwan Lianhua Shentong Group, announced that it has signed an exclusive gas supply contract with Development Crystal to manufacture the new crystal in Xiamen. The plant's commitment to LED manufacturing is once again strengthened by the supply of bulk gases and high purity ammonia (NH3).
In order to reduce manufacturing costs and ensure consistently high purity, the development of the crystal will use Linde's new SPECTRATMPURE high-flow ammonia supply system. The SPECTRATMPURE system delivers the high flow rates and value-added logistics required for mass production in large, contemporary plants, improving process consistency through overall purification and ensuring the highest purity products are available to the development of the plant.
Professional high purity gases are critical to LED manufacturing. Ultra-high purity ammonia is used primarily to produce the highest quality LED equipment. This is because oxygen contains impurity molecules, such as water vapor, even if it is only trace amounts, it can significantly reduce the light output of LED devices. With the continued development of the local LED industry, Linde's ammonia purification plant guarantees the supply of new plants and other LED manufacturer factories. The plant produces 7N (99.99999%) purity ultra-high purity ammonia with an initial production of 500 metric tons per year.
