International standardization bodies related to LED standards
Governmental international standardization bodies, more commonly ISO and IEC. As a fully official form of standardization body, ISO or IEC currently only has an organization that the People's Republic of China can participate as a sovereign state.
The International Organization for Standardization ISO, founded in 1947, currently consists of 147 countries. The International Standardization Work Organization ISO currently sets all international standards except electrical engineering and electrical engineering. Our country is also the first member of ISO, and in 1950 the People's Republic of China became a legitimate member of ISO.
The IEC is the International Electrotechnical Commission. It was established very early, several decades before ISO. In 1906, it was headquartered in Geneva. There are several related to LEDs: one is IEC TC47, semiconductor devices; the other is IEC TC34 lamps and related equipment; the third is IEC TC110 flat panel display devices, which was returned in 2002. Inside the TC47; the fourth is the IEC TC76, which is mainly for optical radiation safety and laser equipment. This organization has introduced some mandatory standards.
Another organization is CIE, the International Commission on Illumination, which is a non-governmental, multidisciplinary world organization in the field of lighting engineering. Because it is very professional in light and lighting, CIE has a great influence in the world of lighting. At present, CIE is participated by the National Committee or by region. China's mainland and Hong Kong are respectively two independent national committees. Therefore, the Hong Kong Lighting Commission is an independent participant, and Taiwan is a member of the self-employed committee. At present, in the entire CIE International Lighting Committee, there are about 200 documents to be released. CIE released more technical files, but some CIE files are preceded by S, such as CIE S009, which is a standard issued by CIE. CIE is a non-government academic institution for light lighting, so many standards are released from ISO or IEC as an international joint standard, becoming an international government, equivalent to more official standards.
LED international standard
The IEC TC34 Lamp and Related Equipment Technical Committee mainly specifies international standards for working light sources, lamps and related accessories, and has issued four LED related standards;
The IEC TC110 Flat Panel Display Device Technical Committee is an international standard for the development of measurement and test methods, performance specifications, and safety requirements for new flat display devices. The current Working Group 5 (WG5) and PT62595 project teams are currently drafting standards for OLED and LED backlight protection.
The IEC TC76 Optical Radiation Safety and Laser Equipment Technical Committee is the body that develops international standards for optical radiation safety. There are currently two standards planned to enter the CDV standard phase in 2009.
