1, look at the unit size and crossover point of the speaker
This can already judge a lot of information. For example, if the treble is with a 44MM diameter treble, the safe working frequency can't be lower than 2K. If the middle is 4 inches and a half, you can judge that the design is unreasonable because The minimum 6-inch half-horizontal spacing must exceed 7 inches, and the lowest point of 7-inch interference frequency is 1.34K (242 formula), then for the safety of the unit, if the crossover point is 2K, the midrange will be 1.34K. Interference occurs. In order to avoid interference, if the crossover point is at 1.3K, the diaphragm of the 44 treble will soon be broken. So it is completely unreasonable design.
2, look at the impedance curve
Especially the bass, if the speaker is not designed properly, the impedance curve will be quickly seen. According to the unit T/S parameters, the sound frequency is not bad. If the impedance curve shows that the volume is not enough, or the tuning is low. , or the tuning is too high, or there is resonance, or the volume is too large, the low frequency will not be good. Speakers with poor impedance curves often have insufficient theoretical knowledge. In Guangdong's speaker factory, the cottage is popular, and Chinese speakers are difficult to enter the European and American markets. One reason is that there are almost no original designs, and many people spend a lot of time. It is also a sorrow of the industry to use the original method of trial and error to make speakers, and to design professional speaker factories with scientific methods.
3. Communicate with developers
Before the speakers are heard, if the speaker developers can't find the factory to communicate, it is often the product of COPY. If the developers themselves can't tell his design ideas, then the speakers are not expected to go there. Speaker structure, how to determine the crossover point, the relationship between the size of each unit and the dynamic headroom of the entire speaker.
4. Have you considered the flow system support?
Many of the line array speakers are used for mobile performance. If the hanging array, weight, and handle design of the line array are not considered for quick installation, the use in reality must not meet the requirements of the performance. Whether the supporting system cabinet is simple to operate, small in size, light in weight, and whether the wiring and power supply inside the cabinet are connected. Is there a dedicated interface for easy connection on the front of the cabinet? Does the processor have a standard preset program in it? It is not OK to send the full frequency to the cabinet. There is no independent input for full frequency and ultra low. There is no matching rain cover, there is no matching speaker cable, the design of the hanger is reasonable and safe (7:1 safety factor, has not done tensile test), whether it can be single point hanging can also adjust the vertical inclination of the array (There is a porous beam in the middle.) Whether the transport package is an air box or a wheel plate. The locks and wheels of the air box must be made of reliable and strong materials (the most vulnerable are these two parts).
5. Is the parameter curve of the speaker true?
Many factory materials have graphs, but is it true? If you can directly test the frequency response and phase curve of the speaker after listening, the phase curve is better to separate the unit test, if high, midrange, The phase curve measured by the bass separately does not coincide at the crossover point, indicating that the speaker processor parameters are unreasonable, and the frequency response is not normal near the crossover point.
