Guodian and Qinghai Water Resources and Hydropower Collaborate to Develop Hydropower Resources in the Upper Reaches of Minjiang River

Recently, Guodian Qinghai Branch signed a cooperation agreement with Qinghai Water Conservancy & Hydropower (Group) Co., Ltd. The two sides will form a company controlled by Guodian Group to develop more than 1.5 million kilowatts of hydropower for three rivers, including the Zaqu River in the upper reaches of Minjiang River in Yushu, Qinghai Province. Resources. After the completion of the project, it will generate more than 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. This will transform the advantageous resources in the Sanjiangyuan area into economic resources, and at the same time greatly improve the current situation of electricity shortage in Yushu area.

It is reported that Qinghai Water Conservancy & Hydropower (Group) is mainly engaged in the development, construction, operation management, technical consultation and foreign investment of water conservancy projects and hydropower in Qinghai Province. In 2008, the Qinghai Provincial Development and Reform Commission authorized Qinghai Water Resources and Hydropower (Group) to plan the Zaqu River, Ziqu River, and Jiqu River in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River in Yushu Prefecture. The current plan has been reviewed by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the planned total installed capacity is 1.573 million kilowatts.
