Freescale and Nivis join forces to develop wireless sensor networks
Freescale and Nivis (a leading wireless network technology developer and integrator) will combine their respective technologies to jointly launch wired-wireless platforms for commercial and industrial distributed sensor networks.
Taking into account the new wireless standards that are constantly emerging in the industrial and commercial fields, the R & D platform will integrate sensor interfaces, wireless modules, routers / gateways, security management and advanced network management functions, as well as the related software required.

Nivis is responsible for wireless connectivity software, and Freescale is responsible for embedded hardware including ColdFire microprocessors, power architecture processors, and ARM core-based processors.
