Fault analysis and processing method of synchronous motor

1. Fault phenomenon: grounding or inter-turn short circuit of rotor excitation winding

cause of issue:

(1) The cause of grounding is mainly caused by damage or moisture of the field winding due to poor fixing, insulation breakdown and voltage breakdown;

(2) In addition to the above reasons, the short circuit is also broken or damaged.

Approach:

(1) Repaint, dry and fix the excitation winding, check whether the action of the overvoltage protection device is normal, and replace the damaged winding or coil;

(2) Repair or replace the de-excitation resistor.

2, failure phenomenon: stator winding failure

Cause of failure: Check the cause of the failure of the three-phase AC asynchronous motor.

Treatment method: The same as the fault handling method of the three-phase asynchronous motor.

3, failure phenomenon: poor contact between the brush and the collector ring causes wear

cause of issue:

(1) The brush spring pressure is not suitable or the vibration is too large;

(2) The brush size that is selected does not meet the requirements or the brush of different specifications is mixed;

(3) The surface of the collector ring is dirty or too rough.

4. Fault phenomenon: the damper winding is unwelded, disconnected or shaken

cause of issue:

(1) Synchronous motor out of step;

(2) When the synchronous motor starts to start work, the excitation time is connected early or late;

(3) frequent start;

(4) The quality of the damper winding is not good.

Approach:

Operate as required, and try to avoid repairing the damper winding.
