A few months ago, Dialog and Dunhong Technology successfully completed a reference design collaboration project for wearable devices, integrating Dunhong's integrated optical heart rate monitor and MEMS (micro motor system) accelerometer sensor, and Dialog's SmartBondTM DA14580 The combination of Bluetooth System-on-Chip (SoC) and sensor fusion software provides a complete turnkey reference design for wearable fitness bracelets. Now, just a few months later, the two companies combined their advanced technologies in solid-state lighting and optical sensing to provide cost- and performance-optimized sensor-based control systems for LED lighting systems.
The color sensing function is integrated with Dialog's color-adjustable white light driver, allowing the luminaire to automatically change the color temperature from cold (blue-white) to warm (amber) depending on the surrounding environment. One application in this regard is the automatic adjustment of illumination, which is coordinated with other illuminations to provide a more consistent and pleasing lighting experience. This sensing function also enables automatic compensation of color temperature differences between LED luminaires. Other applications include the ability to sense outdoor color temperatures and replicate them indoors. Thereby creating a natural light experience, helping to stimulate the body's circadian rhythm, is conducive to physical and mental health.
Dialog is already a leading supplier of driver ICs for solid state lighting.
