The standard is applicable to various protective covers installed in mechanical equipment in industrial production to protect the personal safety of operators.
This standard provides the main technical basis for the design, manufacture and installation of protective covers.
1 noun
1.1 hazardous location (hazardous location)
A space area that may cause injury if the human body enters.
1.2 Safety distance of guard
The linear distance between the outer edge of the shield and the hazardous area.
2 Technical requirements
2.1 The structure and layout of the protective cover should be designed so that the human body cannot directly enter the dangerous area.
2.2 The protective cover should have sufficient strength and rigidity. It should generally be made of metal material. It can also be made of other materials under the condition of strength and rigidity.
2.3 The protective cover should adopt a closed structure as much as possible. When the mesh structure is required at the site, the safety distance and the opening width of the mesh should meet the following requirements:
2.3.1 In order to prevent injury caused by misuse of the fingertip, the opening width: the diameter and the length of the side or the short axis of the elliptical hole shall be less than 6.5 mm, and the safety distance shall be not less than 35 mm.
2.3.2 In order to prevent injury caused by misuse of fingers, the opening width: diameter and side length or the short axis of the elliptical hole should be less than 12.5mm, and the safety distance should be no less than 92mm.
2.3.3 In order to prevent injury caused by the wrong passage of the palm (excluding the first metacarpophalangeal joint), the opening width: the diameter and the length of the side or the short axis of the elliptical hole should be less than 20 mm, and the safety distance should be not less than 135 mm.
2.3.4 In order to prevent injury caused by misuse of upper limbs, the opening width: the diameter and the length of the side or the short axis of the elliptical hole shall be less than 47 mm, and the safety distance shall be not less than 460 mm.
2.3.5 In order to prevent injury caused by the tip of the toe, the clearance between the bottom of the shield and the ground (or the standing surface) should be less than 76mm, and the safety distance should be no less than 150mm.
2.4 In general, fixed protective covers should be used. For moving parts that are often adjusted and maintained, interlocking protective covers should be used preferentially. When conditions are not allowed, open or adjustable protective covers can be used.
2.5 The surface of the shield should be smooth and free of burrs and sharp edges and should not be a new source of danger.
2.6 The protective cover should not affect the line of sight and normal operation, and should be easy to inspect and repair the equipment.
2.7 When the protective cover needs to be painted, it shall be carried out in accordance with GB 6527.2-86 "Guidelines for the Use of Safe Colors".
