The European Commission did not specify the names of these companies. However, LG Display Co., the world’s second-largest liquid crystal display manufacturer, AU Optronics, the world’s third-largest liquid crystal display manufacturer, and Chi Mei’s, the second largest liquid crystal display manufacturer in Taiwan, have confirmed these allegations.
According to a document obtained by Reuters, the alleged companies are Taiwan's third-generation LCD panel maker Chunghwa Picture Tubes and HannStar.
Another person familiar with the matter said that Samsung Electronics, the world's largest LCD maker, will not be penalized because it has reported to the European Commission about this vendor alliance.
