During the exhibition, the reporter visited the CEO of Philips Greater China, Mr. Lin Liangqi, as the only invited online media to gain an in-depth understanding of Philips' LED initiatives in the future.
Reporter: Now the business opportunities of the "Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities" of the Ministry of Science and Technology are mainly aimed at LED lamps. How will Philips cut in?
Mr. Lin: The “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities†project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China illustrates the current state’s emphasis on the LED industry. As a supplier of LED lamps, we certainly hope to have our products in this project. Many localities are now pushing local manufacturers to this project, and I personally think that they should be recommended by the quality of the products, not the inside and outside of the brand. In fact, Philips can also be understood as a local brand. Our domestic investment and manpower investment are definitely the largest companies in China. At the same time, I also hope that the government should set a corresponding standard for the "Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities" to set the threshold and let real good products enter these projects!
Reporter: At present, many experts have reservations about LED street lights, and your company mainly promotes ceramic metal halide lamps in municipal roads. Excuse me, does your company also think that the technology of LED street lamps is not yet mature?
Mr. Lin: I agree with domestic experts that LED street lights are not yet mature enough to be introduced directly to the market. LED street lights currently have defects. Philips' CosmoPolis products are much more mature than LED street lights. The system not only saves energy compared to ordinary high-pressure sodium lamps, but at night, the warm white light, unlike ordinary high-pressure sodium lamps, gives the lighter a clearer and safer lighting experience. Since entering China, the CosmoPolis road lighting system has settled in Shanghai's Tunxi North Road, Qipu Road and Chongqing Zhongshan Road, adding to the local road lighting. However, as the leader of the industry, Philips is the leader in LED lighting. We are constantly developing more environmentally-friendly and energy-saving lighting products. Therefore, we have achieved some good results in LED outdoor lighting. For example, in the field of urban lighting, ColorReach, a powerful LED outdoor floodlighting fixture, has been introduced to meet the lighting needs of tall building facades and to achieve dynamic color changes. We also developed some good products for LED street lights. There are 2 types of products on the spot!
Reporter: Which of the most successful projects are your company using in LED? The curtain wall lighting project of Suzhou Science and Technology Culture and Art Center and the 21-kilometer flood light project of Hangzhou Canal are not examples of it? It is said that Suzhou Science and Technology Culture and Art Center is outside the building. The façade has used nearly 20,000 sets of Philips LED lamps. Can you tell us about the impact this project has on your company?
Mr. Lin: There are many successful cases of Philips. These two projects are just one of them. Each project has had a lot of positive impact on Philips, and the success of these projects illustrates the market's recognition of our Philips. The China Lighting Association has issued this edition of the Zhongzhao Award, and Philips has included many awards in indoor and outdoor and Olympic projects.
Reporter: Your company's series of LED initiatives show your company's confidence in the LED application market. The field of LED applications is very extensive. Which field do you think LEDs will be most competitive in?
Mr. Lin: In recent years, Philips has built a complete LED lighting industry chain through the acquisition of Lumi leds, TIR, ColorKinetics, Genlyte and other companies. This year, Philips has reached an acquisition agreement with Italy's Ilti Luce to expand its leadership in the LED solid-state lighting market. Today, the LED products on our booth are in the simulation scenes of home, store, outdoor, office and hotel. We have fully demonstrated the comprehensive and flexible lighting solutions of Philips LED technology in various fields. I think that the products that satisfy consumers are the most competitive products.
Reporter: Many of your products have a large market share. Can you predict the LED products in your market?
Mr. Lin: We do have great confidence in LED products. As the leader of LED lighting, our goal is that 30% of the city's LED outdoor lighting products may develop faster, and home lighting may be slow due to price factors. Some; store lighting may be better than home lighting.
Reporter: At present, many companies believe that the gap between LED applications and Chinese companies and foreign companies is not as big as traditional lighting. What do you think?
Mr. Lin: I think it is not a simple matter to do LED lighting, so Philips' investment in the entire LED industry chain can be said to be the biggest. At present, the products of LED lamps are mixed in the market, which will have a great impact on users. I personally estimate that there will be a LED downturn in the future, just like the Internet bubble in the past few years, to reshuffle the industry.
Reporter: At present, the global financial crisis has affected the export market of Chinese lighting companies. Many export companies have shifted their sales focus to the mainland market. What do you think of this?
Mr. Lin: It turns out that good domestic products are sold abroad. It is a good thing to sell to China now. China's market is so big that it is not a company that can monopolize itself. More good product competition can also promote each other's progress
Reporter's Note: Mr. Lin Liangqi is a Belgian Chinese, so his Chinese is very good, and he is the most in-depth communication among the Philips executives I contact. He is fluent in language, quick-thinking, very affinitive, and particularly sensitive to numbers! He started his career as CEO of Greater China in 2009. It is reported that under his auspices, Philips Lighting is undergoing a series of adjustments. I can't help but look forward to the next meeting!

"Non-burning, nicotine for users, low tar content. As the heating temperature (below 500℃) is lower than the combustion temperature of traditional cigarettes (600-900℃), the harmful components produced by tobacco high-temperature combustion pyrolysis and thermal synthesis are reduced, and the release amount of side-flow smoke and environmental smoke (second-hand smoke) is also greatly reduced."
Heating non - combustion products are electronic devices containing tobacco. When you heat them, they produce a nicotine-containing vapor that you can inhale.
They are different from traditional cigarettes and work by heating tobacco to a very low temperature. Tobacco is heated to 350 ° C in a heat-incombustible device, while traditional cigarettes burn at up to 900 ° C.
Still, the temperature at which non-combustion products are heated is high enough to vaporize and inhale harmful chemicals.
Although both are electronic devices, heated non-combustible products are also different from e-cigarettes or steam devices. These usually use chemical liquids and do not necessarily contain nicotine. E-cigarettes tend to heat liquids to around 250 degrees Celsius to produce vapor.
