Recently, Cypress announced that its smart lighting solution supports Nichia's PowerLED family of products. Using Cypress's PSoCDesigner 5.0 visual design software and the CY3265N-RGB evaluation kit, designers don't need to write any line of firmware. Just enter the selected Power device and select the bin specification in the convenient drop-down menu. Choose a color that includes white and you're done. With this solution, lighting designers do not need to be experts in LED coding and temperature specifications in order to focus on achieving the desired lighting effects, bringing intelligent lighting systems to market more quickly and efficiently.
Cypress has successfully added the specifications and temperature characteristics of the PowerLED family to the content library of the PSoCDesigner 5.0 software. The software also supports Cypress's EZ-ColorLED controller. With other LED controllers, engineers must enter specific device code and temperature performance data. Cypress has now introduced the CY3265N-RGB evaluation kit, which allows designers to begin simplistic system design with XLampLED.

The CY3265N-RGB evaluation kit provides firmware that supports PowerLED products. The kit consists of a daughter card that supports PowerLED, MiniProg, a 5V LCD display, a USB cable, a CD that stores PSoCDesigner 5.0, Gerber files, and schematics.
