Android development common vocabulary

Android development refers to the production of the application on the android platform. Android was founded by Andy Rubin, the father of Android. In 2005, Google acquired the high-tech enterprise Android, which was established only 22 months ago, and launched SMS and mobile search. Positioning and other services, the Linux-based universal platform has entered the development.

The software development needs to master the knowledge system: Unix/Linux platform technology, enterprise database technology, Java language core technology, software engineering and design mode, Android application development foundation, Internet core technology, Android system level development, JavaEE core technology.

Java language

In the domestic mobile phone market, the Android operating system has occupied a market share and is the undisputed king. Bringing very strong demand to the market, Android development engineers are undoubtedly hot posts on the recruitment website. The first question facing development enthusiasts is how to master the Java language.

Among the languages popular in the market, the Java programming language is a simple grammar, but the object-oriented ideas included are profound and profound.

Hardware abstraction layer

Android's HAL (hardware abstraction layer) is a hardware driver module that can be provided in closed source form. The purpose of HAL is to separate the Android framework from the Linux kernel, so that Android does not rely too much on the Linux kernel to achieve the concept of kernel independent, and also allows the development of the Android framework to be developed without considering the driver implementation.

The HAL stub is a concept of a proxy, and the stub exists as a *.so file. The Stub "provides" the operation function (operaTIons) to the HAL, and the Android runTIme takes the operaTIons of the stub from the HAL, and then calls back the operation functions. There are many stubs in the HAL. RunTIme can get the operation function as long as it describes the "type", ie the module ID.

Programming language

Android is running on the Linux kernel, but not GNU/Linux. Because of the features supported in general GNU/Linux, Android does not support it, including Cairo, X11, Alsa, FFmpeg, GTK, Pango, and Glibc. Android replaced Glibc with bionic, Cairo with Skia, FFmpeg with opencore, and so on. In order to achieve commercial applications, Android must remove parts that are bound by the GNU GPL license. For example, Android moves the driver to userspace, making the Linux driver completely separate from the Linux kernel. Bionic/libc/kernel/ is not a standard kernel header files. Android's kernel header is generated by the Linux kernel header using tools, in order to preserve constants, data structures and macros.

Currently, Android's Linux kernel control includes Security, Memory Management, Process Management, Network Stack, and Driver Model. Before downloading the Android source code, first install its build tool Repo to initialize the source code. Repo is a tool that Android uses to help Git work.
